During his first year at USC Upstate, Monells earned Dean’s List Honors in both the Fall of 2019 and Spring of 2020.
Character
Monells serves as a team captain for the Spartans, a testament to his leadership abilities.
Community
Monells has routinely visited middle schools as a reading buddy, where he read to students and served as a role model.
He has also been a part of community cleanup initiatives.
Competition
Following the 2019 season, Monells was named to the All-Conference first team after ranking fourth in the conference in assists and shots on goal. He tallied three goals and six assists for the Spartans.
In 2020-2021, Monells has already been named Big South Offensive Player of the Week once after tallying an assist and two goals in the opening week of play. Both goals came within two minutes of each other to complete a comeback victory.
