Rapheal Davis

Classroom

A two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Davis will likely become the 16th player in school history to earn three Academic All-Big Ten selections. He interned with the John Purdue Club during the summer, going on speaking arrangements and meeting fans from around the state at events hosted by the organization.

Character

Davis is one of only a handful of players to be a three-time team captain and has led a return to the “Purdue culture” that was missing during his freshman and sophomore years. He has an extremely outgoing personality and is well-respected on the campus and community. Davis has a two-year old daughter who means more to him than anything.

Community

Davis has helped with an initiative by the Purdue Basketball team to donate part of their holiday per diem to a Christmas shopping spree for underprivileged families in the Lafayette area. He recently raised almost $10,000 in a two-week span for the Cary Home for children, a youth facility that provides educational support, family services and behavior modification for underprivileged youth. He also will read to local youth at area schools during the school year.

Competition

The 2015 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection, Davis is on pace to become a 1,000-point scorer at Purdue, and he was named to Seth Davis’ All-Glue Team a year ago and was selected to the Big Ten All-Defensive team.
