Competition

Named as a 2008 State Farm All-America, Renee was an All-BIG EAST First Team choice in each of last two seasons.  She was selected to the BIG EAST All-Tournment team in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and was tabbed the 2006 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year.  Montgomery currently ranks 23rd on UConn’s career scoring list with 1,346 points and has started 99 consecutive games entering 2008-09 - the longest streak nationally.  Entering her senior season this year, Montgomery had started 109 of 111 career games and was recently named one of 20 midseason candidates for the John R. Wooden Award.  She was also added to the 2008-09 Naismith Trophy midseason candidate list in an announcement by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
