Richard Greene owns a 3.15 grade-point average in finance, which is one of the most difficult disciplines in Samford University’s nationally known Brock School of Business.

Community

Greene’s community outreach work includes working with Samaritan’s Feet to assist impoverished children in Birmingham, Ala., mentoring at Cornerstone Elementary School and fundraising for St. Baldrick’s Cancer Research. He also has assisted in creating the Samford athlete mentor program with Cornerstone Schools and volunteers regularly with special-needs children at the Exceptional Foundation.

Competition

As of March 9, Greene was batting .440 with six RBI, five runs scored and a Southern Conference-leading five doubles. He’d also homered, tallied 11 base hits and garnered two walks. Additionally, he’d already thrown out three baserunners attempting to steal and boasted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Last season, Greene registered a .322 batting average while driving in 50 runs and powering 11 homers. He also finished the season with 66 hits, 33 runs and seven doubles.
