Classroom

Keefer is on pace to graduate in May 2011 with a 3.41 GPA in finance and marketing. He has made the Patriot League Academic honor roll every year and was one of only six Patriot League players named to the NABC Academic Honors Court in 2010.

Character

Keefer has extensive leadership experience, including being named team captain for the upcoming 2010-11 season. He is a key member of the Student-Athlete Mentor program, where he evaluates teacher and student-athlete relationships to foster improved communication and academic support. Keefer also aids recruiting efforts by leading tours and meetings. He is a member of the Lehigh Alumni Relations Committee where he builds and maintains relationships with alumni through calls and e-mails to increase support for Lehigh Athletics. Keefer is a selected member of the Emerging Leaders Program where he completed a 10-week program focused on developing and enhancing skills in motivation, vocal leadership and team building. Keefer was the 2008 recipient of the J. Daniel Nolan Award presented to Lehigh’s top first-year male athlete.

Community

Keefer is a team representative for the Adopt-A-Family program where he helps raise money around campus to buy Christmas gifts for underprivileged families in the Bethlehem area. He also works as an instructor at the Lehigh University men’s basketball camp, providing group and individual basketball skill clinics to kids from ages 7 to 15.

Competition

Keefer has been a key player since his first day on campus, earning Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors as a freshman in 2008. He was fourth on the team in scoring and third in rebounding that season. As a junior last season, he helped lead the Mountain Hawks to the NCAA tournament, seeing action in 32 of the 33 games.
