Robby Haus is a finance major who is set to graduate this spring. He would like to pursue a career in consulting or financial services and has worked as an intern with a financial services company. He is a three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Character

Haus was voted by his teammates to serve as a captain for the 2016 campaign. According to his coach Nick Myers, Haus, “Represents what you want in a Buckeye, both on the field and academically. He is a quiet leader but knows when to speak up, and his teammates listen to and respect him.” He was elected to the team’s leadership council as both a junior and a senior. The group maintains communication between the players and coaching staff. He has served as an assistant coach with Team LaxWorld, supervising high school sophomores and juniors with their lacrosse programs for both practices and tournaments and communicating with parents.

Community

Haus has been a part of numerous volunteer efforts with the Buckeyes, including work with the Heinzerling Foundation for individuals with developmental disabilities. He also has worked with Honor Flight for American war veterans, the Match for Kim bone marrow registry drive, Habitat for Humanity, Upper Arlington Lacrosse, the Special Olympics and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

Competition

Haus, a 2015 and 2016 Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch, has started all 50 games since joining the Buckeyes as a freshman. In 2015 he was a USILA third-team All-American, honorable mention All-Big Ten selection and a Big Ten All-Tournament Team honoree as the Buckeyes reached the NCAA quarterfinals. He was a 2014 first-team All-ECAC pick and a 2013 ECAC All-Rookie Team choice. He has 100 ground balls and 38 caused turnovers in his career. Haus was selected by the Florida Launch in the fourth round of the 2016 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft (No. 29 overall).
