Ryker Killins is a three-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree. He has helped the Bulldogs annually rank among the top academic programs in the country in the NCAA’s progress report and was part of a squad that led the WCHA in total all-academic selections last season.

Character

Killins is a standout defenseman and team leader on the ice and ranks as one of the squad’s captains displaying high moral character. He has been a regular in the lineup since his freshman campaign and is a talented performer on the ice and a squad leader off of it. Killins displays strong playmaking abilities.

Community

Killins is active in the program’s various community service efforts, which include an annual skate with Special Olympians and various community clean-up projects. The team is highly active in a wide range of community endeavors throughout the year, and Killins is active on campus in helping to support other athletic programs around the university.

Competition

As of nomination time Killins has 31 points with 11 goals and 21 assists in 85 collegiate contests. He is a four-year letter winner and a regular in the Bulldog lineup. Killins ranks as one of the team’s and league’s top scoring defensemen and had his career-bests with eight goals and 14 assists as a junior last season. Twice named WCHA Player of the Week last year, he helped lead the team to an NCAA Final Eight appearance and conference championship in his freshman campaign. He is one of team’s top starting defensemen.
