Character

Through her career goal of being a physical education teacher, Quigley has spent countless hours in the community promoting health and wellness. She served as a Doug Bruno Camp counselor the last five summers, promoting the game of basketball along with life skills for young basketball players. She also worked as a softball umpire for the Joliet Softball Association. On campus Quigley served as vice president of DePaul’s Captains’ Council in 2009-10 and was elected as the Council’s President for the 2010-11 school year. As a junior she was chosen to represent DePaul at the Big East Conference Student-Advisory Council. This year she’ll be a captain for the second straight season.

Community

In the last four years Quigley has volunteered more than 130 hours to several causes, including Misericordia Candy Days, St. Vincent DePaul Feed the Homeless Sandwich Drive, Sheffield Garden Walk, St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen and Aspire Children’s Services Halloween Card Drive. As a member of the Captain’s Council she helped DePaul plan and execute several community-service projects, which included the “Share Your Sole” shoe drive, Lenten Food and Clothing Drive, and several field trip days for local Chicago-area schools. Quigley signs autographs after games and also promotes DePaul Women’s Basketball through its reading program by visiting local schools and delivering a message about studying hard and staying in school.

Competition

Quigley earned second-team All-Big East honors after a junior season in which she was also a finalist for the Nancy Liebermann Award. Quigley left everything she had on the court, leading the Big East and ranking third in the nation with 38.2 minutes per game.
