Double majoring in Spanish and Journalism, Oregon senior Scout Libke is currently carrying a 3.36 GPA heading into her final season in Eugene. Libke will graduate in the spring of 2014 after studying abroad. In her three seasons on the pitch for the Ducks, Libke has garnered all-conference academic recognition in two of those seasons.

Character

As one of the captains on the squad, where Libke has normally been a show by example type of player, she has become more vocal on the field. After losing one of the top goal scorers during the course of the 2011 season, Libke stepped up and picked up the slack by notching a team-high four goals. Three of her goals came off penalty kicks, while the other goal was earned in UO’s 1-1 tie with Washington on Oct. 21 at Pape’ Field.

Community

Breaking away from her studies, Libke has participated with the soccer team as a whole in various events over the course of her career at UO in addition to pairing up with O-Heroes, the student-athlete community service organization at Oregon. Some of those recent events include assisting with the opening and ribbon cutting of the Boys and Girls Club of Emerald Valley at the Westmoreland branch in Eugene. The club was forced to close down for several months and Libke lent a hand in organizing the “O"lympics to celebrate the reopening. The “O"lympics was an event that went hand and hand with the reopening of the Boys and Girls Club that was made of 30 teams of children and 15 event stations making up the competition that paired the children with student-athletes.  Libke also assisted at the student-athlete talent show, Showtime, and assembling and handing out Thanksgiving baskets.

Competition

Libke was selected to the NSCAA second team of the All-Pacific Region, becoming the second Duck to pick up an all-regional selection from the organization since Nicole Garbin was named to the All-West Region Second Team in 2006. Libke, a Portland native, has started every Oregon match from the last three seasons (60 matches) and added a team-high four goals into the offensive mix this past season.  The defender was second on the team in shots taken with 21. Various accolades that Libke has garnered over the past three years include being named to the Pac-10 all-freshman team and being tabbed first-team All-Pac-12 last season.
