Classroom

Evans has posted a 2.83 grade point average while majoring in history. She is set to graduate on time.

Character

Evans acts as a leader on and off the court, serving as a team captain while also leading the players in charitable initiatives like volunteering in the Interfaith Nutrition Network and giving up her time in the afternoons to help organize/sort food and clothing donations in the kitchen and clothing donation room.

Community

Evans has volunteered to serve meals at the INN, handing out food and beverages to guests while assisting with clean-up of the facility after the meal. This year, for the second time, the team is taking it upon themselves to raise $1,000 which will go towards sponsoring a meal at The INN in January.  The team will be serving that meal as well.

Competition

Evans is a two-time Associated Press All-America pick. She will enter her senior season with 1,618 career points (fifth all-time at Hofstra) and 992 career rebounds (second all-time). Evans is 222 points and 39 rebounds shy of the current school records. She played for Team USA at the 2011 Pan American Games. As a junior, Evans earned the following awards: First team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection…All-Met Division I first team…ECAC Division I Women’s Basketball All-Star…Two-time CAA Player of the Week. She ranked 31st in the nation in scoring, 13th in rebounding and 16th in double-doubles. She was named to both the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 20 and Naismith Trophy Watch Lists.
