Classroom

Johnson is working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a 2.683 cumulative GPA. She is a bright individual who is engaged and active as a student. In the University of Miami Athletic Department, Johnson has been named a UM Book Buster member for earning a 3.0 GPA.

Character

On the court, Johnson clearly leads by example, as she is a two-time First Team All-ACC performer and just this past year was named All-America by four different publications to go along with her ACC Player of the Year nod. However, Johnson is just as much a leader off the court. On several occasions she has spearheaded community relations effort and has been a driving force inside the class room.

Community

In the community Johnson has been involved in Touching Miami with Love and Fit to Play- Miami Parks and Recreation where she worked with local youth to spread the message on the importance of staying active. Since she began here at UM, she been involved in the women’s basketball camps as well. She has worked closely with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to help collect donations, etc. for local organizations.

Competition

Johnson’s accolades are as follows: 2010-11 ACC Player of the Year, 1st Team All-ACC for second straight season, 2010-11 State Farm Coaches, Associated Press, USWBA, and Full Court Press All-America selection, All-ACC Defensive Team for second straight season, 2-Time State Farm All-Region Nominee and 2010-11 All-ACC Tournament Team.  In 2010-11, 2nd in the ACC and 10th in the nation with 3.2 steals per game; 1st in the ACC in Free Throw Percentage (.846); 2nd in the ACC and 17th in the nation with 19.6 points per game, 2010-11 Miami Holiday Classic MVP, Miami Thanksgiving All-Tournament Team. Johnson has started all 99 games of her career, she has made the 2009-10 WNIT All-Tournament Team, 2008-09 ACC All-Freshman Team, 2008-09 ACC Honorable mention. In 2008-09, she was the only player in Division I to lead her team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. Her career Stats are as follows: Field Goal Percentage - .463, Three Point Field Goal Percentage- .362, Free Throw Percentage- .811, Total Rebounds- 764 (7.7 RPG), Assists- 415 (4.2 APG), Blocks- 76 (0.77 BPG), Steals- 293 (2.96 SPG), Points- 1,717 (17.3 PPG).
