Character

“Spencer has been involved with our Baylor Sports ministry program since his arrival here as a freshmen. As a part of the ‘serve’ and ‘give’ opportunities we offer, he has taken numerous trips to the juvenile correctional facility to encourage and mentor boys, has spoken to many high school and middle school Fellowship of Christian Athletes meetings, even adopting Ceasar Chavez Middle School (a local at-risk school) this past year where he went every other week. Spencer has been faithful to our Feed My Starving Children event the past three years where he with many of our student-athletes work two-hour shifts to make more than 100,000 meals for starving children. He also was a leader for us on our Baylor Sports Ministry international mission trip this year to Brazil where we worked with sports ministry partners to provide sports clinics to children from the local favelas. When a volunteer is needed Spencer is usually the first to step up to serve.” - Wes Yeary, Director of Sports Ministries
