Sydney Cassalia

Mathematical Sciences (Cyber Engineering)


Cassalia has excelled in the classroom at the United States Military Academy, ranking 42/1048 in her senior class. She is on track to graduate and will earn her mathematical sciences degree, with a focus in cyber engineering.

She is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient.


Cassalia is a cadet-athlete of the highest character. She is a two-year captain for the Black Knights.

This fall, she was the Physical Development Officer for Company A4, where she was in charge of the physical development of her entire company. Cassalia planned workouts and met with individuals to discuss and plan ways to improve their fitness.

In the spring semester, she will be a platoon leader. Cassalia is in charge of 30 people and will lead them in the academic year. She will be responsible for their overall performance at the academy.


Cassalia has volunteered with local churches while she is home.

Her work within the Corps of Cadets as the Physical Development Officer for her company, along with being a platoon leader, is all about helping to develop those around her into better leaders. It is a way for her to give back to her community.


In 2019, Cassalia was named the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year. For her efforts, she was also named to the US Soccer Coaches’ All-North Region second team, All-Patriot League first team, and Patriot League All-Tournament team.

Cassalia also earned 2018 US Soccer Coaches’ All-North Region first team, 2018 All-Patriot League second team, and 2017 All-Patriot League third team honors.

Entering her senior season, she is a three-year starter and has played in 57 career games. Cassalia has played over 5400 minutes and boasts a 0.90 GAA. She has made 241 career saves and collected 22 shutouts, while facing 241 career shots.

Prior to the 2020-21 season, Cassalia was named the preseason Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year.
