Character

UCF signed seven linebackers in the 2011 recruiting class, six of which had three stars or more including Plummer (three). However he wasn’t among the most talked about in the class. That changed immediately in preseason camp as he constantly worked to be a key contributor, ultimately playing in 11 games as a true freshman with one start. Since then, Plummer has been one of the top spokesman on the team, both with fans and the media. One of the most humble athletes in the game, Plummer simply leads by example, embracing the team’s success a lot more than his own.

Community

Plummer has spent time in the community with the following: ChampionSHIPS Youth Football Field Day, Jackson Heights Middle School visit, Nemours Children’s Hospital visit, DarcyJ Foundation Youth Football Clinic (2x). He also is active in team Bible Study and was a UCF representative in 2014 American Athletic Conference Media Day.

Competition

A member of four national watch lists in 2014, Plummer was on the 2013 All-American Athletic Conference First Team and was the 2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP. The Orange Park, Fla., native was selected as a 2013 SI.com Honorable Mention All-American, and earned 2013 National Defensive Player of the Week accolades as well. Plummer helped lead UCF to its most successful season in school history with a 12-1 record and a No. 10 national ranking in 2013. He paced the defense in 2013 with 110 tackles, while setting career-highs in most defensive categories including TFL (8.5) and interceptions (two). For his career, he has 235 tackles, 17.5 TFL and eight break-ups, and has at least 100 tackles the past two seasons.
