Classroom

Ostrander is a member of Drake University Presidents list. He graduated in three years with accounting degree and is pursuing masters in accounting. He plans to graduate in May 2012. He joined former teammate Nick Foster as the first-ever Bulldogs named to the first team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men’s College Scholar All-America Team. He was also honored as a 2010 first team All-MVC Scholar-Athlete recipient and was named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week. He was named to MVC Academic Honor Roll in 2009 as well as earning MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award.

Character

Ostrander helped in organizing Loose the Shoes Fundraising Tournament for AIDS relief in Africa. He helped lead the effort for the Drake athletic department for gathering items for Toys for Tots program run by the Salvation Army.

Community

Ostrander is a team leader for Meals of the Heartland - a program that provides meals for people in need all over the world. He conducts youth soccer clinics in the community to help grow the game of soccer in Iowa and is a Drake Relays and Des Moines Marathon volunteer.

Competition

Ostrander is a two-time team captain. He appeared in all 18 games for Drake in 2010, including 17 starts and led the team in goals (5), points (11), and game-winners (2), while ranking second in shots (33) and shots on goal (13). He was tabbed to the Missouri Valley Conference second team in 2010 as well as a third team all-Midwest region selection. He scored game-winning tallies in identical 3-2 home wins over UMKC and Western Illinois and also added goals in key ties with No. 12 UC Irvine and at Missouri State. Twice Ostrander was named MVC Offensive Player of the Week. He ranked fifth in game-winning goals (2), sixth in goals and goals per tilt (0.28), 12th in points per contest (0.61), 13th in points, 15th in shots per game and 17th in shots in the MVC, while rating 14th, 17th, 19th and 19th, respectively, in league-only assists, goals (1), goals per game (0.14) and assists per game (0.14).
