Character

McKie has been a leader for the Demon Deacons on and off the court. He was voted as a team captain as a junior in 2012-13. He has repeatedly served as a team spokesperson in the media since he was a freshman, and he has been a high-profile player for the team. He has also represented Wake Forest for the past three years at the ACC Preseason Media Day. McKie has not tarnished his high-profile status, as he has served as a tremendous representative of the University off the court.

Community

McKie has been an active volunteer in the community and has been generous with his time during his Wake Forest career. He has volunteered on multiple occasions with programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Santa’s Helpers (delivering presents to local youth), Eat With The Deacs (mentoring local youth) and Hit the Bricks to benefit cancer research.

Competition

A two-time All-ACC selection, McKie is the conference’s leading career scorer and rebounder. He also leads all active ACC players in career double-doubles and career starts, as he has started every game for the Deacons over the past four seasons. McKie ranks among the top 15 in school history in seven statistical categories, including 11th in career rebounds and 20th in career scoring. For his career, McKie has averaged over 13 points and seven rebounds per game. McKie is one of only nine players in school history with 1,500 career points and 700 career rebounds.
