Classroom

In the classroom, CSUN senior Trevor Morley has displayed the same excellence that he has on the competition field. A Kinesiology major, Morley carries a 3.21 cumulative GPA into the fall 2015 semester. In the spring 2015 semester, he posted a 4.0 GPA for the first time at CSUN. He is expected to graduate in the fall of 2015. Morley has also served as a tutor at the Matador Achievement Center in numerous subjects, including but not limited to: psychology, sociology, Chicano studies, chemistry, kinesiology and biomechanics. In fact, Morley carries a stronger cumulative GPA in his core/major course work than he does as an overall student. He is also a member of the CSUN “Varsity N”, which recognizes outstanding academic performances by CSUN student-athletes.

Character

Morley is an outstanding student-athlete who has embodied several of the core disciplines CSUN athletics value most: passion, dedication, determination and excellence. He is a two-time team captain, including the 2015 season, for the Matadors who has started every game in his CSUN career. He puts in extra time with the coaching staff and his teammates in terms of film study and physical training. He carries himself and represents the university in the classroom and community and on the pitch with dignity and honor. Morley is a dependable and reliable competitor who extends those characteristics off the performance field to his work in the classroom and toward his professional soccer aspirations.

Community

Morley has given back to the community throughout his time as a Matador. Most recently, he staffed “Speak Out” tents through the CSUN campus, promoting the Matadors and NCAA’s initiative “It’s on Us,” raising the awareness and communal responsibility to stop sexual assault. Through the men’s soccer program, Morley has worked with hearing-disabled students in downtown Los Angeles, stressing both the importance of academic work and physical activity. With his work in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which he participated in as a freshman, he was a part of a CSUN-led community projects including the annual Big West Conference Coin Drive and the Matadors’ annual Adopt-A-Family initiative during the holiday season.

Competition

Morley’s performance on the soccer pitch is demonstrated in his consecutive first-team All-Big West Conference honors in 2013 and 2014. Morley has started every game in which he has appeared for CSUN and owns two career assists. He earned NSCAA All-Far West Region Third Team honors in 2013 as well. Morley was the only defender named to the 2015 Preseason All-Big West Conference Team. As a center back on the team’s defensive line, he has helped the Matadors post 23 shutouts in his career at CSUN. He is in his second season as a team captain for the Matadors and carries professional aspirations following his time in the San Fernando Valley.
