Character

Tyler has accumulated a number of accomplishments during his time at Northwestern but is always first to credit his teammates. He is the last line of defense but works in tandem with the defenders in front of him to produce solid statistics.Off the field, Tyler is quiet but in net, he has developed into a vocal leader. Win or lose, he is always accommodating with media requests and is a great team player.

” Tyler understands that he would not be able to accumulate the individual B1G awards and recognition without the help of his teammates, and he is the first to credit their effort.  His calm but confident leadership inspires his team in challenging situations and pushes them harder in their training environment.  As a senior, his influence on the team extends beyond the field as he serves as a mentor for the younger players as they acclimate to the Northwestern University campus and the rigors of the college soccer schedule. His coaches recognize his individual success is largely a tribute to his intrinsic motivation and drive.  As a player who constantly strives for
perfection in his role as a goalkeeper, Tyler seeks out opportunities to prepare himself with extra work over the summer months in order to set a high standard during preseason training.  His character and leadership
qualities make him a great candidate for the Senior CLASS Award.”

Community

During Tyler’s time at NU he has volunteered at Northwestern Field Day, helped host a futsal tournament for the International Students Association, participated in the Kids Club Olympic Sports Day and regularly assists the NU marketing department with post-game autograph sessions.
