Classroom

Tyler Moorman finished his undergrad with a 3.74 GPA and is in the final year of a 5-year Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Detroit Mercy. He holds a 3.92 GPA in graduate school.

Moorman earned Horizon League fall and spring honor roll accolades for each semester eligible (2013-17), received Detroit Mercy Athletic Director’s Honor Roll laurels in each semester eligible (2013-17), holds a minor in leadership, and is a member of the Global Jesuit Business Student Association. He also studied abroad for six weeks in Italy, taking three classes.

Character

Moorman is a two-time team co-captain and a leader on and off the field for the Titans. He earned team-nominated Freshman of the Year (2013) and Offensive MVP (2015) in year-end team awards.

Community

Moorman is part of community service initiatives with the team. He has assisted with freshmen move-in day and has mentored and guided Detroit youth through the the General Motors Student Corps in each of the past two summers. He also volunteered at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and Capuchin Soup Kitchen.

Competition

Moorman missed nearly all of 2016 due to a knee injury, but is back on the pitch for his senior season. Following his junior season, he was a Second Team All-Horizon League honoree, leading the squad with seven goals, 14 points, 43 shots and two game-winning goals. He ranked second in the league in goals and tied for fourth in goals per game (0.35) during 2015. In his career, he has 10 goals and 21 points entering senior year. He entered his senior year as the active Titan leader in minutes played (4,910). He won a regional championship with Detroit City FC of the National Premier Soccer League in the summer of 2017.

Entering his senior year, Moorman had started a possible 57 out of 60 matches.
