Vera Varis has completed her undergraduate degree and is currently pursuing a master’s degree. She carries a 4.0 GPA in grad school and earned a spot on the president’s honor roll in the spring.
Character
Varis is a vocal leader on the field as she directs her teammates from her position in goal. While she speaks four languages fluently, English was not her first language. Varis is one of the first on the field and one of the last ones off—always leading by example.
Community
Varis has been active with Relay for Life, served in the Florida Hospital and helped with Pack to Attack.
Competition
Varis has been a solid goalkeeper for the Knights and ranks among the top 10 in career saves at UCF. In 2017, she was named the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Year after allowing just one goal in league play and four goals all season. She is currently on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List for 2018.
