Classroom

Dunlap is on track to graduate in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in family studies and a minor in psychology.

Character

Dunlap is known around the UK community for her great character and fun-loving personality. She emerged as a leader during her freshman season and is always at the forefront of wanting to help others, especially her teammates. Despite a banner junior season, Dunlap has remained humble and hungry, being the first to arrive in the gym and the last to leave. Her ultimate goal is to lead her team to the 2011 Final Four.

Community

Dunlap has been an active member in UK’s “Cats Who Care” service program during her three years as a Wildcat. She has played bingo at Kentucky Children’s Hospital and participated in Cats Cultivating Character, where student-athletes teach character lessons once a month to third-grade students at a local elementary school. Her other volunteer experiences include packing food for God’s Pantry BackPack program, helping with Beaumont Centre YMCA’s Fall Festival, participating in the Huntertown Elementary Reading Walk-A-Thon, serving lunch at the Lexington Hope Center, visiting patients at UK’s Markey Cancer Center, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and speaking at various elementary schools and camps in the local area.

Competition

After winning the 2010 SEC Player of the Year award and being named a WBCA All-American, Dunlap begins her senior season on the State Farm Wade Trophy and Wooden Award watch lists. Last year she set new single-season Kentucky records for blocks (66) and steals (107), and she’s among the school’s career leader in points (14th, 1,284), rebounds (fourth, 811) and blocks (third, 129), among others. Other accolades for her outstanding junior season include All-American distinction from the Associated Press (third team), Full Court Press (second) and NetScouts Basketball (second), as well as All-SEC first team and SEC all-defensive team honors.
