Character

Price enters his senior season as a team captain. He’s a leader by example and also through what he says. Although Price is soft spoken, his teammates listen when he speaks.

Community

Price participated in the Thanksgiving Hometown Visit Program through the Cadet Public Relations Council during Thanksgiving break, November 2009. The program allows students to take extended leave for Thanksgiving break in order to visit high schools, middle schools and other venues near their hometown to inform students of West Point. He visited five venues during this program. He participated in a mission trip to Nicaragua during Thanksgiving break, November 19-28, 2010. The West Point chapter of “I Am Second” took a group of cadets to Nicaragua to do mission work in conjunction with a church based out of Georgia. During the trip, the group visited multiple orphanages, feeding the children and playing sports with them. They also visited multiple communities to help feed the people and improve infrastructure (building wells, churches, cutting weeds, etc.). He helped prepare and serve food and drinks in a soup kitchen in Boston in January 2011 and participated in a mission trip to New York City in the summer of 2011 through Olive Baptist Church out of Pensacola, Florida. He participated in a career day at a local elementary school in Hampton, Va., and started and continues to help lead weekly devotional Bible study for the baseball team (two years running). Price is also an active member of FCA and “I Am Second” groups at the Academy.

Competition

Price is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree, earning first-team honors as a junior and a freshman. He became just the sixth Army player in six years named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-America Team as chosen by Collegiate Baseball Magazine and just the fourth Black Knight to garner Patriot League Rookie of the Year honors. Price owns Army single-season records for games played (57 in 2009) and games started (53 in 2009), and ranks second on Army’s single-season walks list (39 in 2009), one shy of a school record, and the single-season runs scored list (59 in 2009). Price boasts a .438 career on-base percentage and has been successful in 35 of 46 career stolen base opportunities. He ranks seventh on Army’s career list for runs scored (123).
