Zack is enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program at Bryant, set to graduate in 2009.  He has a current graduate GPA of 2.87.  Prior to the MBA program, Greer earned an undergraduate degree in sociology with a certificate in MMS studies from Duke University in 2008 where he graduated with a 3.0.  He was selected as a Duke and ACC honor roll student as a senior and was named Duke’s male senior student-athlete of the year.

Character

Of any athlete today, none have more character or loyalty than Bryant University’s Zack Greer. A two-time captain – serving at both Duke and Bryant – and a unanimous selection for the Bulldogs, Greer’s enthusiasm and love of the game is infectious and undeniable. Head coach Mike Pressler attests that he has “never had a player, in 28 years, practice and work as hard as he does.” Known by coaches and teammates as one of the most humble and selfless players around, Greer leads the Bulldogs, as he led the Blue Devils, on and off the field. Greer has also overcome a series of crushing obstacles over his five-year career, not the least of which include the loss of his father during his freshman season at Duke. Greer kept pushing forward until another road block of national worth blocked his path – the Duke Lacrosse scandal of 2006. But Greer has persisted, and now, after completing his undergraduate degree at Duke, not only forwent professional lacrosse in favor of a fifth year of eligibility, but used that year to reunite with his old coach now at Bryant, showing his true loyalty and appreciation for a coach who helped him through his obstacles at Duke.

Community

Greer has used his status in college athletics to help mentor and guide young lacrosse players at camps and clinics throughout country over his years at Duke and Bryant.  He also participated in the Duke team’s weekly efforts to aid the Ronald McDonald house in 2008.

Competition

Greer is the NCAA’s all-time leader in career goals scored with 206 (in 67 contests) and looks to extend that mark in 2009. Arguably the first pick in both the 2009 National Lacrosse League (Indoor) and Major League Lacrosse (Outdoor) drafts, Greer, a two-time team captain, has multiple highlights including: 2009 Preseason First Team All-America selection … 2009 National Player of the Year candidate … Three-time All-America selection at Duke … 2008 Tewaaraton Award finalist … Was the nation’s leading scorer in 2005, 2006 and 2008 … Two-time NCAA all-tournament selection … 2008 Turnbull Award winner as the nation’s top attackman … 2005 National Rookie of the Year … 2005 ACC Rookie of the Year … Led the Blue Devils to a pair of national championship appearances (2005, 2007) … Three-time All-ACC selection … Became only player in ACC history to record three 50+-goal seasons in 2008 … Career points total of 283 sits tied for 10th all-time in NCAA history with one year of eligibility remaining
