Classroom

Zahana Medley is a driven student who has great relationships with her professors. Medley holds a 3.097 GPA at TCU while in the Neeley School of Business, which is ranked as one of the top 30 business schools in the nation by Bloomberg Businessweek. The competitive program required her to complete computer proficiency exams and entry interviews, and her academic advisor describes her as a model student-athlete who sets a great example for underclassmen and other students.

Medley is a two-time TCU Scholar Athlete of the Month and was a Big 12 Commissioner’s Roll and a second-team Academic All-Conference selection in 2013-14.

Character

Medley makes daily investments in her own future. As a student-athlete, she finds the time to interact with anyone she can, having built an impressive Rolodex of CEOs that will be of great benefit to her down the road in her business career. Medley regularly attends business school events and has used her networking skills to her advantage to earn multiple internships in the business world. Medley is never afraid to speak to anyone, another trait that will help her become a great businesswoman. She is a leader on the court as well, as she is serving as a team captain for the third straight season in 2015-16.

Community

Medley has a long list of involvements in the community having worked with many local organizations. Her work includes the local Kinderfrogs program through which she works with kids with developmental issues, volunteering at a local retirement home, serving food and playing with children at a local night shelter, being involved in TCU’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes program, working as a Military Youth Mentor and spending time with kids at the YMCA.

Competition

On track to become the all-time leading scorer in TCU history, Medley is among the nation’s top 20 active career scoring leaders. A two-time first-team All-Big 12 Conference selection as a sophomore and junior, Medley was one of six preseason all-conference selections for the Horned Frogs for the 2015-16 season. Medley led the team in scoring, points per game, assists, three-point field goals, free throws and free throw percentage a year ago after posting 15.6 points per game. She became just the fourth player in program history to earn multiple first-team all-conference honors after scoring in double figures in 25 games last season with eight games of 20 points or more. She also is the fastest player in program history to reach the 1,000 career point mark.
