Allen Lazard is on track to graduate in four years with a degree in communication studies. He is a two-time Big 12 Commissioners Honor Roll recipient.

Character

One of ISU’s leaders for four years, Lazard has been voted team captain for the second-straight season. He is ISU’s first two-time team captain since 2013.

Community

Lazard regularly volunteers for community service by participating in elementary read-athons and hospital visits. He also has volunteered at the Cyclone Tailgate Tours in the summer.

Competition

Lazard is one of the greatest wide receivers in Iowa State history. He was a first-team All-Big 12 (Coaches, ESPN) member in 2016 and was on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List. He also was a 2016 preseason All-American and first-team All-Big 12 selection. Among active NCAA players, Lazard ranked second in receptions (189) and fourth in receiving yards (2,597) as of nomination time. He is ISU’s career leader in receptions (189), 100-yard receiving games (9), consecutive 100-yard games (4) and consecutive games with a catch (38). His 38-game streak with a catch is the best active string in the nation. He has reached 100 receiving yards in five of his last eight games, averaging 91.2 yards in that span. He leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big 12 and 35th nationally in receptions per game (6.3). Lazard is second in career TD receptions at ISU with 19 and has three TD catches in 2017.
