Anna Martin



Martin was a Division I-AAA Scholar Athlete as a junior. She is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team recipient and was named to the Dean’s List in seven quarters. She earned DePaul’s Athletic Director’s Honor Roll status in nine quarters and helped the DePaul women to a No. 3 ranking in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Poll in 2011-12 and 2010-11. DePaul ranked No. 8 in 2009-10. Martin is majoring in Marketing and did a summer internship with DePaul’s Athletic Marketing Department and worked closely with new and incoming students. She boasts a 3.632 GPA and won the Shirley Becker Academic Award as a sophomore and junior. She accumulated 10 career BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll accolades (eight as a junior, one as a sophomore and freshman).


Martin is a member of DePaul’s Captains’ Council and is the 2012-13 team captain. She led the Blue Demons as a junior in 2011-12 after losing three of DePaul’s seniors to season-ending injuries. She teaches youngsters the game of basketball through private instruction. She participated in DePaul’s Vincentian Heritage Tour in France during the summer of 2010. She is a four-year starter at DePaul, earning DePaul’s “Most Improved Award” following her freshman season and capturing DePaul’s Pat Ewers “Unsung Hero Award” after her sophomore season.


Martin participated in Misericordia Candy Days, the Vincent DePaul Feed the Homeless Sandwich Drive, the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen and the DePaul food, clothing and shoe drives. She volunteered for the Sheffield Garden Walk and basketball autograph days. She attends DePaul University Student-Leader meetings. She was a Sports Reach Ministries Mission Trip to Brazil volunteer and a Lincoln Park area grade schools basketball clinic volunteer. In addition, she is a Children of the Americas (COTA) volunteer and a Kentucky Community Centers volunteer.


Martin was a finalist for the State Farm/Wade Trophy and was an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American as a junior. She also was on the honorable mention State/Farm WBCA All-American team as a junior. She was DePaul’s MVP as a junior and enters her senior season with 1,382 career points, which ranks 15th in DePaul’s record book. She reached double figures in 70 of her 103 career games (68.0%) and has led DePaul in scoring in 29 career games including 21 times as a junior. She was one of two first-team All-BIG EAST unanimous selections as a junior. She led the BIG EAST in scoring with 19.1 points per game (25th in Division I). She finished junior season ranked in the top 85 in scoring (25th - 19.1), field goal percentage (53rd - .484) and free throw percentage (81st - .814).
