Character

Coleman faced a difficult obstacle prior to his junior season, after an injury early in spring practice required him to be taken off the field in an ambulance with what turned out to be a cervical sprain. He missed the rest of spring practice as he recovered from the injury, but the time away from the field did not affect him in the fall, as he bounced back to earn first-team All-SEC honors after leading Auburn in sacks and tackles for loss. He is looked up to by his teammates, who consider him a team leader.  He is well-liked not only by his teammates, but also by fans, coaches and staff and members of the media for his outgoing and pleasant personality, and he is always willing to assist with any special projects.

Community

Coleman has been very involved in the Auburn community, participating in events such as Family Fun Night at Dean Road Elementary School, interacting with the children. He also went to Miracle Field in nearby Opelika in April, playing baseball and taking pictures with kids who have mental and physical disabilities. He has also been active in FCA, the SAAC Toy Drive and SAAC Food Drive.
