Millan is majoring in kinesiology and physical education and carries a 3.32 cumulative grade point average. Academically, Millan has been named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll and is a multi-time UMaine Scholar-Athlete Award winner.

Shee is also a three-time Dean’s List selection.

Character

Millan came to Maine from her native Spain as a shy and quiet young woman who was insecure about her ability to speak English. Millan grew into her leadership role, came out of her shell and is leaving as a confident, strong woman who has become a leader for our team on and off the court.

During her senior season, she suffered a season-ending knee injury in the sixth game of the season. Millan’s focus turned to doing all she could to work back from the injury, while supporting her teammates from the bench. Despite not being on the court, her leadership continued. she choose to forgo traveling back to Spain for the summer and instead continued to rehab at UMaine. Millan has returned stronger than ever and continues to thrive on the court, leading the America East in scoring and continuing to climb the record books at UMaine.

Community

Millan has grown into a role model for several youth in the state of Maine. When fans were permitted to attend games, the autograph line for Millan was lengthy following each game.

She also gives back to the community that loves her so much. Whether it is helping the freshmen move into the dorms for the first time as part of “Maine Hello”, working with young kids at basketball clinics, helping out at road races or going to the local hospitals to spend time with children who are battling cancer, Millan enjoys these times and is a leader in this aspect as well.

Competition

In both 2018-19 and 2019-20, Millian was honored as a member of the America East first-team All-Conference, America East All-Tournament team, and America East All-Defensive team. She also earned the America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player in 2019. Millan became the seventh fastest in Black Bear history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark, and just the third-ever to do it in her third season.

Millan has earned 10 America East Player of the Week Honors, as well as one America East Rookie of the Week award.

In 2017, she earned a spot on the America East All-Rookie team.
