Purdy has excelled in the classroom, where he carries a 3.66 GPA in communication studies.
Purdy was named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America second team and has also been named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team twice.
Character
Purdy is entering his second season as a team captain for the Cylclones.
He is also a member of Iowa State’s Leadership Council and has helped the program achieve their most prosperous period in school history.
Community
Purdy has volunteered with numerous programs at Iowa State. He has participated in hospital visits and with Cyclone Tailgate Tour, FCA Upward Sports Camp, Victory Day, Boys and Girls Club, and Night to Shine.
Competition
Purdy is the greatest QB in Iowa State’s history, owning 27 school records. He has the most wins among all QB’s in school history with 25, and his 63 career touchdown passes are 13 more than second place.
He has been named an All-Big 12 recipient three times.
