Classroom

Hollweg was an Atlantic Hockey Scholar Athlete of the Year as a junior. He is a three-time member of the Atlantic Hockey all-academic team and a Dean’s List student. He has a 3.89 grade point average in management. He is the recipient of the Superintendent’s Award of Achievement. recognizing the top 20% of his class (for combined excellence in Academics, Military and Physical Development). He was also the recipient of the Superintendant’s Award of Excellence, honoring the top 5% of his class (for combined excellence in Academics, Military and Physical Development). He was the recipient of the Gold Star for Annual Cumulative GPA over 3.67. After this semester, it will be seven consecutive semesters that Hollweg has been on the Dean’s list. He is a 2006-07 Atlantic Academic All Star team member and a three-time Athletic Director’s Outstanding Leader-Athlete Award winner. Hollweg will graduate in May 2008 as a second-lieutenant in the U.S. Army .

Character

The only three-time captain in the 104-year history of Army hockey, Hollweg twice was chosen as an alternate captain before his teammates voted him captain during his senior season. He is a two-time captain while playing junior hockey. During the summer of 2007 Hollweg served as a Cadet Troop Leadership Training Platoon Leader of Heavy Field Artillery Unit (4/27 FA) during a training deployment in Germany.

Community

Hollweg is a member of the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee, which runs charity events that include coat drives, reading programs for youths, work in soup kitchens and also community service projects. He is also active in the community while playing juniors where he participated in the D.A.R.E. program, visited schools and read to students. He was a participant in the “Skate with the Kids Program” through the Junior Black Knights.

Competition

Hollweg has competed in 109 games in his career thus far. He scored 10 goals and handed out 18 assists as a junior and has one goal and four asists through six games of his senior season. Hollweg has scored one game-winning goal and has been on the No. 1 line each of the past two seasons. He has seven points (two goals and five assists) in six playoff games and was a member of the 2007 Atlantic All-Tournament Team.
