Classroom

Morris carries a 3.2 cumulative GPA in the Mendoza College of Business as a business technology major. He earned Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2018 and 2019.

Character

Morris, who returned for his senior season as one of the nation’s most decorated goaltenders, was named an alternate captain for the 2019-20 season - a rarity at the position. He is also a member of Notre Dame’s Rosenthal Leadership Academy. His run as Notre Dame’s starting goaltender came after he played just 20 minutes as a freshman.

Community

Morris helps lead a Notre Dame team heavily involved in the local community, including Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish Fight for Life program (where the team has adopted our young fan, Rudy, who is battling Ewing’s Sarcoma). He is also an Indiana Youth Hockey League volunteer.

Competition

A returning All-American and 2018 Hobey Baker Top-10 finalist, Morris has been among the nation’s elite players over the last few seasons. The back-to-back Big Ten Tournament MVP in 2017 and 2018, Morris has led the Irish to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2018 and 2019, including a run to the national title game in 2018. He was named the 2018 Mike Richter Award Winner as the top goaltender in the country. A First Team All-Big Ten selection in 2018 and a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree in 2019, Morris was also selected as the Big Ten’s Player Most Outstanding Player for the 2017-18 season.
