Classroom

Durbin is a business major with a concentration in accounting and finance with a 4.12 cumulative GPA coming into Fall 2012 semester. She was a Capital One First Team Academic All-American in 2011-12, the program’s first ever. She was also a member of the 2011-12 Academic All-District Team. She is a three-time Mountain West All-Academic Team Member and a Mountain West Conference Scholar-Athlete Award recipient in her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.

Character

Durbin has been elected team captain for the 2012-13 season. She is a team leader in cardio and strength and conditioning sessions and drills and makes herself available for media requests at nearly any time.

Community

As a leader of the New Mexico women’s basketball program, Durbin helps spearhead the team’s numerous community service events. Durbin has participated in visits to UNM Children’s Hospital, participation in basketball games for “Beyond Limits”, which is a camp for physically disabled youth, reading sessions at local elementary schools, clinics with the YMCA and other youth organizations, visits to the Ronald McDonald House and worked with an Adopt-a-Thon with CYFD for children in foster care or in the adoption process in the state of New Mexico.

Competition

Durbin was a 2011-12 First Team All-Mountain West selection and was second in the conference in scoring. She tripled her scoring output from her sophomore to her junior season. She led the MWC in three-point percentage (.518) last season, which was also a a single-season school record. She scored 20 points or more on six different occasions and set a career-high of 29 points against Wyoming.
