Case Keenum maintains a 3.14 GPA in kinesiology-sports administration with a minor in business administration. He’s a four-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll and a two-time Dean’s List honoree. Keenum, who made the C-USA All-Academic team in 2008, is scheduled to graduate this fall.

Character

Keenum is active in the Houston and Abilene communities, speaking to many middle and high schools in the area. He also serves as a boys’ summer-camp counselor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, leads the University of Houston worship team on a weekly basis and plays guitar while sharing his testimony and faith.

Community

Keenum, who received the 2009 C-USA Spirit of Service Award, has visited patients at Texas Children’s Hospital on multiple occasions and assisted at the Christmas luncheon at Star of Hope Mission, a Christ-centered community dedicated to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and their children. He’s also signed autographs for kids and led athletic events.

Competition

Keenum enters his senior season poised to become the NCAA career leader in passing yards after leading the nation in total offense for the second straight season in 2009. As a junior, Keenum set a school record with 5,671 yards and became just the second Division I quarterback to have multiple 5,000-yard passing seasons in his career. His stellar campaign earned Keenum several distinctions, including the College Football Performance Awards National Quarterback Trophy, C-USA MVP, first-team CollegeFootballNews.com All-American and second-team Phil Steele, Walter Camp, Rivals.com and CBSSports.com All-American honors
