Allen graduated with 3.30 GPA and is currently taking graduate courses. He is a three-time first teamAcademic All-Big 12 selection (2017, 2018, 2019) and a 2020-21 National Football Foundation Campbell Trophy nominee.

Allen is one of 16 captains on the 2020-21 team. He is President of the ISU Student-Athlete Advisory Leadership Committee.
Community
During his time at Iowa State, Allen has participated in many community service programs including Victory Day, school read-a-thons, and hospital visits.
Competition
Allen is a two-time All-Big 12 second team selection, earning the honors in 2017-18 and 2019-20. He has started 18 games in his career and has 38 catches for 416 yards and three touchdowns. He currently has nine receptions and 126 yards in the early 2020-21 season.
