Character

Olave was selected as a team captain for the Buckeyes this season, as voted on by his teammates.

Community

Olave and his teammates are extremely active in the community. They work with ‘The 2nd & 7’ to promote literacy, while also taking part in camps and community service activities at bowl games.

Competition

Olave entered the season as a preseason first team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. He has been an All-Big Ten selection twice, earning first team honors in 2020.

Last season, he led the Buckeyes in receptions (50), receiving yards (729), and touchdowns (seven) while tying a program single-season record for catches per game with 7.1. In Ohio State’s win over Clemson in the CFP Semifinal, Olave caught six passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

He blossomed into one of the top receivers in the nation as a sophomore, finishing as the team leader in receiving yards (849), yards per catch (17.3), and touchdowns (12).
