Daniel Carlson is a 2016 second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American and has been named to the SEC Honor Roll from 2013 through 2016. He graduated in 3.5 years with a 3.66 GPA in finance and will receive his MBA in May. He has also been nominated for the National Football Foundation Campbell Trophy.

Carlson is an Auburn Man who makes a tremendous impact through his excellence in athletics, his commitment to academics and his heart for service.
Community
Carlson was nominated for the Wuerffel Trophy and AFCA Good Works Team (2016). He went on a mission trip in March, 2017, with Church of the Highlands to Inn Ministry in San Cristobal, Guatemala and in May, 2017, with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) to the Dominican Republic. He has taken part in hospital visits to Birmingham Children’s, Palm Beach Children’s, East Alabama Medical Center, Connecticut Children’s, Ocshner Medical Center and several veterans’ hospitals.
Carlson has taken part in faith-based speaking appearances with local high school teams and FCA groups. He was a speaker at Auburn Ignites (campus-wide Christian rally) and has volunteered with the following organizations and events: Auburn Best Buddies, Team Ministry Heart2Heart, Storybook Farms, Auburn Boys’ and Girls’ Club, Champions of Chemo, Lee-Scott Academy, Auburn SAAC holiday toy drive and food drive and Auburn Leadership Institute.
Competition
Carlson was named a 2015 and 2016 second-team All-American. He was a first-team All-SEC honoree in 2015 and 2016 and was also a 2015 and 2016 Lou Groza Award finalist (one of three each year). In 2016, he was the SEC special teams player of the year and led the SEC in scoring (10.3 ppt). Carlson is Auburn’s career scoring leader (371) and holds 12 school records. He ranks in the top five all-time in 12 SEC kicking categories.
