Ciampini has been named to the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team three straight seasons. He also carries a 3.31 overall grade-point average as an economics major.

Character

Ciampini has taken on a leadership role with the national champions. He was elected as an alternate captain and has become one of the team’s main spokesmen when dealing with the media.

Community

Working alongside his teammates, Ciampini has been active with Union’s “Helping Hands” neighborhood litter cleaning project, helped served Thanksgiving dinner at the local YMCA Residential Center, and has participated in a reading program with elementary school children. He also initiated a program with a local hospital to help give young cancer patients an opportunity to attend a Union hockey game. This past summer, Ciampini participated in numerous community service events as part of the NCAA Championship Trophy Tour conducted in the Capital District region.

Competition

Ciampini earned All-ECAC Hockey Third Team honors last season and was named to the 2014 NCAA Frozen Four All-Tournament Team. He led the Dutchmen with 23 goals last season, the second most in the program’s history. Ciampini finished second in team scoring (41 points) and game-winning goals (5). He finished with points in 27 games, which included 12 multiple-point games. The forward also recorded a hat trick in Union’s 5-4 win over third-ranked Boston College at the Frozen Four. Ciampini was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Month for February and received No. 1 Star of the Game honors both nights at Penn State last year, scoring the game-winning goal in the series finale with just three seconds left in regulation.
