Emmanuel Ellerbee

Classroom

Emmanuel Ellerbee has made the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice (2015, 2017). He is one of two players to earn both first-team All-Conference USA honors on the field and C-USA All-Academic honors (3.23 GPA in civil engineering).

Character

Ellerbee has been a 2016 and 2017 team captain.

Community

Ellerbee is an annual participant in the Owls Challenger Game as well as the International Clinic for new Rice students. He also participates in the freshman move-in and assisted in the bone marrow drive for Rice’s honorary Owl, Ziggy Stovall. Competition

Ellerbee is the preseason Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and is on the Nagurski Award Watch List. He is a consensus preseason all-conference pick as well as preseason All-Texas College by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. He was a team MVP and first-team All-Conference USA selection by league coaches in 2016 after leading the conference in tackles per game (10.7, sixth nationally) and solo tackles (70) and finishing second in total tackles (118) despite missing one game.
