Decker has already graduated with a 3.4 GPA in business marketing education. He is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection in 2008.

Character

Decker has been elected captain by his football teammates for the past two seasons. He is always willing to speak with the media following wins or losses. He has never even had a brush with any off-field trouble. He will always take time to pose for a photo with a fan or sign an autograph for a kid.

Community

Decker volunteers his time for numerous community involvement activities. He has worked with HopeKids, made trips to hospitals to visit sick children, read to children at elementary schools and taken part in numerous youth clinics.

Competition

Decker was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2008. He was also a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver. He was an SI.com honorable mention All-America performer in 2008. Decker is a two-sport student-athlete (football/baseball) and has appeared in 36 games with 26 starts in football. He ranks second all time at Minnesota in career receptions with 177 and ranks fourth all time in receiving yards with 2,361, third in receiving touchdowns with 19 and fourth in 100-yard receiving games with 7. He enters the 2009 season with a streak of at least one reception in 26 straight games played. In baseball, Decker has been selected in each of the last two Major League Baseball Entry Drafts. He batted .319 with 13 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 25 RBIs in the 2009 baseball season. He was a member of the Big Ten All-Tournament team in 2009 as well. In 2008, Decker batted .329 with 7 doubles, 3 triples, 4 home runs and 28 RBIs.
