Classroom
Norwood was conditionally admitted to the University of South Carolina. He worked extremely hard in the classroom and became a man on a mission. He finished his first year with over a 3.0 GPA and made the Dean’s List. He followed that up with another appearance on the Dean’s List as a sophomore. He is now scheduled to graduate in December 2009, 3 1/2 years after he was admitted to the university.
Character
According to the South Carolina Director of Football Operations, Norwood is one of the best he has been around. He is always doing the right thing - both on and off the field. He is a team captain and possesses great leadership skills.
Community
Norwood is a regular in community service projects. He has been a field day volunteer, a volunteer reader, a tour leader, part of a youth mentoring program and a volunteer speaker among other ventures.
Competition
Norwood is a preseason All-SEC performer in 2009 after being a first team postseason selection in each of the past two years. He is on the watch list for numerous postseason awards and is an All-America candidate. He is the SEC active leader in both sacks and tackles for loss and is the school record holder in tackles for loss.
