Erica Treiber has a cumulative GPA of 3.61 as a kinesiology major, helping her earn SEC Academic Honor Roll each year she has been at the University of Tennessee. After volleyball, Treiber wants to become an optometrist.

Character

Treiber took part in the Voleader program in 2016 as a sophomore. The program is a year-long leadership academy that includes two leadership courses and a service learning trip abroad in Vietnam. She also has served as a team captain for the Lady Vols the past two seasons, including serving as the head captain this season.

Community

In 2017, Treiber was named to the SEC Community Service Team. She has been the volleyball team Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative from 2016 to 2018, attending bi-weekly meetings, advocating for student-athletes, communicating with the department’s admin and planning leadership and community service activities for student-athletes.

Treiber has more than 140 hours of community service logged since arriving in 2015. She’s worked with organizations and events such as Habitat for Humanity, Read Across America, Goals for Girls, community holiday meal, Voloween and UT Sports Fest. She also has volunteered at Knox County schools including Pond Gap Elementary, South Knox Elementary, Emerald Youth Academy, and Tennessee School for the Deaf.

Competition

As of nomination time, Treiber was second in program history in hitting percentage at .346 and sixth in total blocks with 412 (1.18 per set which ranks third in Tennessee history). In 2016, she was an AVCA All-American (Honorable Mention) and AVCA All-Southeast Region selection while leading the team in kills and blocks.

She’s earned MVP honors at the DISH Tennessee Classic in 2016, the Rocky Top Invitational in 2017 and the Tennessee Classic in 2018. In the 2018 Tennessee Classic, she recorded a career-high of 19 kills to help lead Tennessee to a season-opening victory over No. 22 Michigan State.

Treiber has led the team in blocks each season, helping her earn a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team in 2015 while also being named SEC Freshman of the Week twice. This season she is on pace to have the most single-season kills, blocks and aces in her career while also hitting the highest percentage at a .376 clip.
