Gavin Patterson

Classroom

Gavin Patterson has a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average and was named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner’s List during each of his first three years. He was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars in 2016 while making the President’s List five different semesters and the dean’s list in the fall of 2017.

Character

Patterson is a model citizen and a team leader.

Community

Patterson currently volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House, which he started doing in February of 2016. He volunteered at Feeding the Gulf Coast in September of 2018, a Special Olympics event in 2017 and 2018, the Storm Youth Volleyball Tournament in February of 2017, the Mulherin Home bowling event in November of 2016 and the South Alabama Jaguar Day in September of 2016. In 2016, he participated in the South Alabama Freshman Leadership Scholar Interviews and helped with the First Light Marathon. He also helped with the L’Arche Marathon in January of 2015.

Competition

Patterson received preseason first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2018 after earning first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors in 2017. As of nomination time, he is second all-time at South Alabama with 28 FGs, 74 PATs and a 94.9 PAT%. He also ranks third all-time at South Alabama with a 75.7 FG% and fourth all-time at South Alabama with 158 points and second among PKs.
