Harald Frey holds a cumulative 3.55 grade point average. He is on track to graduate in four years. Harald was selected to the Big Sky Conference’s Winter All-Academic team three times prior to senior year.

Character

Frey served as a member of Montana State’s seven individual search committee in March to hire the 23rd men’s basketball head coach. He is a member of group that included senior administration in athletics and university board members and is the team captain for Norwegian national team. He was the leading scorer for Norway at the 2019 Summer Universiade in Naples, Italy.

Community

Frey helps lead the MSU basketball team in volunteer activities in the Bozeman area. He has served as an athletics representative in local television series by PBS production focusing on team’s impact on the community.

Competition

Frey was selected to the Big Sky Preseason All-Conference team prior to his senior season and was a Second Team All-Big Sky honoree as a junior. Enters February 2020 having made 116 consecutive starts, which is the eighth most among active players in Division I men’s basketball. He played in at least 35 minutes in 19 of the first 20 contests of the 2019-20 season. Harald ranks 17th in all of Division I in minutes played averaging 36:53 per game. He ranks fifth in program history with over 1,700 career points and can enter top three individually by the end of the season. Frey also ranks among best in school history including second in assists (466) and free throws made (397), as well as third in 3-pointers (249). He sits in Big Sky Conference history 20th all-time in scoring and 13th in career assists. He has earned three Big Sky Conference Player of the Week awards during his collegiate career.
