Rodriguez was named a 2020-21 United Soccer Coaches first team All-American.

She is also a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, and a four-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Character

Rodriguez is a two-time team captain for the Buckeyes. Electing to return for an additional year, she is one of the most respected players on the team.

Rodriguez has high standards for herself and for her teammates, but continues to be an unselfish, servant leader.

Community

Rodriguez has participated in numerous community initiatives at Ohio State. With Fisher Impact Day, she made blankets and packaged food for those less fortunate. Participating with the Brutus Buddies Trick or Treat, Rodriguez worked with children who attended the men’s hockey game while passing out Halloween candy.

Volunteering with the 2nd & 7 Foundation Literacy Outreach Program, she read to and shared the importance of reading and education to elementary students. Rodriguez also worked with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, making blankets for children in the hospital.

With Buckeye’s Go International/Students Abroad, Rodriguez worked with children the community. She coached them in a variety of sport activities and participated in multiple service activities, including beach cleanup events. She has volunteered with BuckeyeThon, where she raised money and spent 12 hours on her feet to fight childhood cancer.

Competition

In 2020-21, Rodriguez was named the Big Ten Defender of the Year and a United Soccer Coaches third team All-American. She is also a three-time All-Big Ten selection, having earned first team honors twice.

In 2017, Rodriguez was named to the TopDrawerSoccer second team Freshman All-America squad.

Having played in 77 matches for the Buckeyes, Rodriguez has anchored the defense for the last four-plus seasons. She has seven goals and 10 assists in her career, and has been a part of 27 shutouts.

Heading into 2021, Rodriguez was selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
