Classroom

Jeremy Reaves is on track to graduate after his senior year is complete.

Character

Reaves was one of four seniors chosen by the coaching staff to serve as team captain for the Jaguars game against nationally-ranked Oklahoma State the second week of the season and is a strong candidate to be named a team captain for the season at the end of the year. He is also a three-year representative of the football program on South Alabama’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Community

Reaves has spoken to students both at home at Pensacola Catholic High School and in Mobile, Ala., at Davidson High School on five separate occasions. He has represented USA Football while visiting with patients at the USA Medical Center and the Diamond Children’s Hospital in Tucson, Ariz., volunteered at Special Olympics events in Mobile, and has contributed to service learning at a local volleyball tournament the last three years.

Competition

A two-time All-Sun Belt Conference performer, including being one of two juniors to be named first-team all-league in 2016 and a second-team honoree in 2015, Reaves is one of the most decorated student-athletes entering this season. He was voted preseason first-team All-SBC by conference coaches over the summer and was also a preseason first-team All-Sun Belt selection by six different publications, with one naming him the No. 3 NFL talent in the league. Reaves was also named to three preseason watch lists including one for the 2018 Senior Bowl. After three weeks of the season, he ranks fifth all-time in program history in total tackles, is tied for first in both forced fumbles and passes broken up and is tied for second on the Jaguars all-time interception list.
