Classroom

Jenkins currently has a 3.66 grade point average and is majoring in Criminal Justice/Criminology, has made the Dean’s List six times (every semester she has been at Hampton) and has been named to the MEAC Commissioners All-Academic Team six times as well. She was also selected as a member of the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Team due to her outstanding work in the classroom.  She is scheduled to graduate in May 2012.

Character

Jenkins displays tremendous leadership, both on and off the court. She demonstrates a relentlessly positive attitude, regardless of the situation. She has a strength and personal resolve, in large part to surviving a battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma when she was in high school. She leads more by example than through words.

Community

Jenkins is active in the Hampton roads community, taking part in community service initiatives with fellow student-athletes. She has taken part in such community service projects as the Heart Walk and Hampton University’s P.L.A.Y. Day, helping children from the community become more physically active. She took part in the PAL Leadership Organization and the Holiday Feed the Homeless programs

Competition

Jenkins has been an integral part of Hampton making back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, guiding the Lady Pirates offense. She was second in the nation in assists in 2010-11, averaging 7.2 per game. She led the team in scoring as well and was an AP All-American Honorable Mention in 2010-11, becoming the first player in program history recognized by the AP. She was also named First Team All-MEAC in 2010-11.
