Jordan Wyatt is currently enrolled in the Masters of Liberal Studies program after earning an undergraduate degree from SMU in applied physiology and sport management with a sport performance leadership concentration.
Character
Wyatt was unanimously elected one of two season-long captains for 2018 and is part of SMU football’s leadership council. After missing spring practice with an injury, Wyatt became one of the most important leaders for the Mustang football team. This season, he was selected to wear number 23 in honor of Jerry LeVias, the first African-American to receive an athletic scholarship in the Southwest Conference.
Community
As part of SMU’s football team, Wyatt takes part in numerous community service activities including visits to the Children’s Hospital in Dallas, Habitat for Humanity and youth football clinics.
Competition
Wyatt is a member of the Wuerffel Trophy watch list. Among national active leaders, Wyatt tops the list for career fumbles forced (8), career interception return touchdowns (4) and career defensive return touchdowns (5). Wyatt was awarded honorable mention All-American Athletic honors in 2017.
