Character

Julia Fritz is a phenomenal leader for the infield and pitching units. She is a senior captain and leads by example, on and off the field. Fritz remains active in the community, despite COVID-19 continuing to lurk around.

She is quick to do whatever Coach Irwin asks at practice and knows that a spotlight is on her thanks to her ability to lead her team.

Community

Fritz is consistent in her volunteering efforts with ETSU, especially with going to local schools to read to them and spend time teaching them about the game that she loves.

She also participates in the annual “Scarecrow Skedaddle” that is hosted by the local Niswonger Children’s Hospital.

Competition

Fritz has taken the past two years by storm, emerging into a standout player for the Blue & Gold. She now ranks fifth all-time in career on-base percentage (.381) and fielding percentage (.981).

In 2018, Fritz was named to the SoCon All Freshman team and followed that up a year later when she was tabbed to the SoCon first team All-Conference. She etched her name in the ETSU history books as she delivered a walk-off single against Tennessee on March 1, 2020, boosting ETSU to a 4-3 win over the 20th-ranked Lady Vols for the first win against Tennessee in program history. She also pitched 3.2 innings in relief against Tennessee, earning her first collegiate win in the circle.
