Justin Vogel is a Book Buster (3.0+) and has been selected to the Athletic Director Honor Roll (3.2) and dean’s list (3.5+) three times. He also was an ACC Post Graduate Scholarship recipient. Vogel majored in health science with a minor in chemistry during his undergrad and finished with a 3.5 GPA.

Character

Vogel transferred to Miami from the University of Florida and quickly established himself as one of the leaders of the team both on and off the field. Vogel showed tremendous character upon arriving at Miami as he joined the team as a walk-on. He never complained about anything and just worked his way along to becoming one of the team’s most valued special teams players. He has consistently demonstrated the highest level of character in competition, academics and in the community. Earlier this summer, he represented the team at the annual ACC media day in Charlotte. Most recently, Vogel has served as the team captain for the Hurricanes season opener against FAMU. Vogel has never been a problem off the field for the team.

Community

Vogel has volunteered at the Holtz Children’s Hospital, Miami Mission Homeless Shelter and the Girls Club-Aftercare. He also has been involved with Tucker Elementary and the ?Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation Aftercare.

Competition

Vogel has been named to the 2016 Ray Guy Award Watch List? and 2016 preseason All-ACC team. In 2015 he was named to the All-ACC Honorable Mention Team (Coaches)? and the 2015 Ray Guy Award Watch List?. In 2014 Vogel was a Ray Guy Award Semifinalist?, All-ACC Third Team (ACSMA)? selection, and a 2014 All-ACC Third Team (Coaches)? honoree. He entered his senior season with 119 punts for 5,073 yards, 42 punts inside the 20-yard line and 25 punts over 50 yards? with an average of 42.6 yards per punt.
