Classroom

Tetschlag maintains a 3.8 GPA in business administration and she earned a 4.0 each of the past two semesters. Last year she was a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine first-team Academic All-District selection and she’s a consistent member of the Horizon League Academic honor roll. A member of the Dean’s List, Kayla is a D1-AAA Scholar-Athlete and was also a U.S. Army Scholar-Athlete of the month last December.

Character

While juggling being a full-time student and upholding the demands of a college athlete, Tetschlag succeeds at both and is always willing to help out when asked. Tetschlag is admired by players, coaches and community members because of the way she carries herself both on and off the court. A class act because of her personality and work ethic, Tetschlag is already being sought out by companies upon her graduation.

Community

Tetschlag is a member of SAAC and the American Marketing Association. She volunteers at the Boys & Girls Club after-school program at Danz Elementary, where she helps children with their homework and their development. Tetschlag also provides weekly blogs for the Horizon League website. All of this is done throughout the basketball season. Kayla’s fundraising and volunteering efforts for the team have enabled her to interact with kids through many programs and events while making a difference in the lives of everyone she comes in contact with both on and off the court.

Competition

Tetschlag enters her senior season as the preseason Horizon League Player of the Year. Last year she was selected to the All-Horizon League first team after finishing second in the league in field-goal percentage. Tetschlag led the team in scoring a year after earning the conference’s Sixth Player of the Year.
